As 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Glenn Peat has delivered world-leading hospitality consulting services during his career with premium level brands including Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Shangri-La and Hard Rock Hotels International. Key career successes include numerous global 5-Star hotel pre-opening assignments and multiple restaurant refurbishment projects. With a wealth of experience in resort and luxury hotel operations in China, India, Australia and New Zealand, Glenn creates indelible experiences for his guests whilst delivering on the brand promise.
Beginning his hospitality career in Australia, Glenn moved to Asia to take on a more challenging role as executive assistant manager, spearheading the executive committee and the opening at the acclaimed Grand Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa in India. He then led the pre-opening teams of Hyatt Regency Pune, Hyatt Regency Chennai and also Hyatt Regency’s first property in Punjab, Hyatt Regency Ludhiana, which was the marquee property of the state and ranked first in the city on Trip Advisor.
Post his 5 year tenure in India, Glenn joined Pudong Shangri-La as General/Hotel Manager in 2015. This enormous flagship Shangri-La property located in the heart of Shanghai boasts over 950 guest rooms, 10 restaurants and bars, plus huge conferencing with it being the largest hotel in China at the time. Under his strong leadership, Glenn achieved the highest guest satisfaction scores in the history of the iconic hotel.
Glenn then moved to open Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen, Hard Rock International’s first China property in the world’s largest gold complex of Mission Hills.
After the success opening of this stunning luxury property, it was time to come home to NZ, where his genuine passion for international luxury hospitality, hotel and food and beverage experiences contribute to the national hospitality scene. After a successful 20 year leadership career overseas, Glenn returned to Central Otago, taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2018 of Goto Collection - parent company of the well-respected Rata, Madam Woo and Hawker & Roll restaurants.
